10 ways to spend a rainy day with kids at home

I buy acrylic paints from Hobby Lobby or Michael's when they are on sale and keep them in a specific place.  I have bought, cleaned, and kept paintbrushes
over the years.  I have "paint rags" and a "paint tablecloth" for our painting days!

I have canvases on hand in case creativity strikes us!
​We use paper plates as our "palettes."

Art project kits are great gift ideas for birthdays
or Christmas.  They are great to keep
on hand for rainy days!

Sometimes you can find these kits at TJ Maxx!

I was blown away!

Other ideas for rainy days with kids include:

1. Hide and go seek
2. Board games or card games
3. Play doh depending on their age and your patience 
4. Legos
5. Family movie marathon
6. Reading but doing so as a family with each family member reading a page aloud at a time
7. Cooking or baking
8. ​Working a puzzle
9. Scavenger hunt (indoors of course!)
10. Creating your own play, skit, variety show - including costumes and music!
